Miriam Elaine Younker, daughter of the late Joe & Ruth (Griffiths) Creath, was born on September 16, 1941 and departed this life on August 25, 2026. At the time of her passing, Miriam was eighty-four years of age.

Miriam was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, James R. Younker; sister, Janet Ferguson; two grandchildren, James S. Younker and Cole Younker; and one great-grandchild, Rory Younker

She is survived by her three sons, Timothy & wife Cathy Younker, Kip & wife Michelle Younker, Scott & wife Kelly Younker; nine grandchildren, Rachel, Taylor, Daniel, Lindsey, Mathew, Leslie, Bo, Carter and Cameron; and seven great-children. In her passing, Miriam also leaves behind many friends and other family who will truly miss her.

Miriam was born, raised and attended school in Cantril, Iowa. Following her high school graduation, she would attend nursing school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Throughout her career she served as a nurse for over thirty-five years in various places across the country.

On August 4, 1961, in Kirksville, Missouri, Miriam was united in marriage to James R. Younker; together they would share fifty-two years of marriage.

In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, cooking, travelling and cheering on her beloved St. Louis Cardinals. All throughout her life, she had a passion for music and truly enjoyed playing her piano at home. Above all, she cherished each and every moment she shared with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made to Dementia Society of America in Miriam's memory. 

Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2026, in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at Bill Gianino's Restaurant, 4571 Chestnut Park Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63129, Phone: 314-892-6326.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
