Mona Kay Rowland, age 68 of Climax Springs, MO departed this life on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025.
Mona was born July 16th, 1956, in Warsaw, MO. The daughter of John Thomas and Vivian Marie Rowland of Climax Springs, MO.
Mona is proceeded in death by her father and mother; John Thomas and Vivian Marie Rowland, Grandparents; Christopher and Grace Booker, and Dorothy Violet (Cramer) Booker.
Mona is survived by her two Children; Rachel Davis of Climax Springs, MO; Jason Rickey and wife, Jennifer of Climax Springs, MO; Six grandchildren; Christopher Coffey and fiancé, Brenna Steward, Nicholas Asbury and wife, Baylee, Dakota Davis, Mariah Davis and fiancé, Alan Abernathy, Brayden Rickey and Charlotte Rickey; One Great Grandchild, Clara Sue Asbury. She is also survived by her sisters; Arlene Wilkerson and husband, Murl, Lillian Miller and husband, Bill, Brothers; Freddie Rowland, and John Rowland as well aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Mona was born and raised in Climax Springs where she attended and graduated from Climax Springs High School in 1974. She was a devoted member of the Pearson Branch Church where she accepted Christ as her lord and savior. She spent summer after summer volunteering as a camp counselor for her church camp. In her spare time, she loved playing cards (Pitch) and was a pinball wizard.
Her passion for the color purple was evident in every aspect of her life. From her purple couches to her purple toaster, her admiration for this hue was clear. Her wardrobe boasted a lively assortment of purple clothing, ranging from soft mauve blouses to elegant amethyst dresses that shimmered in the light. Friends and family often teased her in a lighthearted manner about her purple obsession, yet she embraced it with pride, finding both joy and comfort in its majestic and soothing tones.
At the age of 13, she worked beside her mother at the Flame Resort in Camdenton, MO for over 40 years and then becoming a home health care giver afterwards.
Mona’s greatest achievements were her children who she loved and cared for endlessly. As they pursued their individual paths, her influence was evident in their actions, choices, and the way they cared for others. Her legacy lived on through them, a testament to the profound impact of her nurturing spirit.
Although she lived a full life, her time with us was short. Mona was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many in the community. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her spunky, sassy, alien telling stories.
Her passion for storytelling and her vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Mona was not only a cherished family member but also a pillar in the community, known for her kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand. Her love for her family was evident in every conversation, and her laughter was infectious, bringing joy to those around her.
