Norma Ruth Shirk

Norma Ruth Shirk, daughter of Valentina and Lena (Tschudy) Deckard was born February 3, 1935, in Ridgeway, Ohio. She departed this life, September 10, 2023, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years, seven months and seven days.

On July 7, 1956, in Mount Victory, Ohio she was united in marriage to Clifford Shirk and to this union three children were born. Together they shared sixty-seven wonderful years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Idella Loy; two brothers, Calvin Deckard and Dwight Deckard.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Shirk of the home; two daughters, Desiree & Gregory Pantukhoff of St. Charles, Missouri; Sherry & Larry Bowling of Camdenton, Missouri; one son, Eric & Jill Shirk of Montgomery, Texas; four grandchildren, Parker Shirk (fiancé Madison Lummus), Lindsey Shirk, Wesley (McKayla) Bowling, and Heather Bowling (JR Wallace); four great-grandchildren, William Bowling, Maxdyn Bowling, Hunter Wallace and Colton Wallace. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Norma was raised in Ridgeway, Ohio and graduated from Ridgeway High School with the class of 1953. After graduating Norma moved to Columbus, Ohio and started her career in banking as a teller. A chance encounter with a young man named Clifford Shirk selling newspapers on a Kenton, Ohio street corner would turn into sixty-seven years of love and the building of a wonderful family. Norma and Clifford would move to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1973. Shortly thereafter Norma went to work at First National Bank and work there until her retirement.

Norma made a profession of faith and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Camdenton for fifteen plus years.

In her spare time Norma and Clifford were involved in square dancing in their earlier years, loved to travel and Norma was a part of a Quilting Guild at the Camdenton United Methodist Church. Most importantly Norma dedicated herself to her family and her greatest moments of happiness and peace were spent with them.

She was a loving and a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
