Norman Otto "Brad" Bradshaw, 73, passed away at Lake Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 31, 2025 in Osage Beach, Missouri. Born September 22, 1951 in Fisk, Missouri, Brad was known for his freewheeling nature, generosity, and a deep love of his family. Brad was the beloved father of three children: Melissa Bradshaw, Christopher Bradshaw, and Jennifer Brown. He is also remembered by his son-in-law Matt Brown, his two brothers David and Tony Schneider, and his beloved dog Flossie. His family was always on his mind and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents George Bradshaw and Wilma (Litton) Schneider, his stepfather Dale Schneider, and his loyal dog Alex. May he join them all peacefully in the hereafter.
Brad served in the Vietnam War between 1969 and 1971 as a member of the 101st Airborne Brigade. He served with bravery as a combat medic and infantryman while "jumping out of perfectly good airplanes" as he would often say. He earned a Purple Heart and a Combat Medic Badge for administering medical aid to another soldier under enemy fire.
Brad had a lifelong passion for history, particularly military ships from World War II, spending countless hours studying their design and stories. He enjoyed collecting books later in life and had a small collection of antique knives along with other knickknacks. These hobbies reflected his inquisitive nature and a deep appreciation for military engineering.
Known for his mercurial nature and generous heart, Brad touched many lives with his kindness and spontaneity. Often letting any of his friends stay with him when they were down on their luck, he loved deeply and gave freely. In his later life, his loyal dog Flossie was not just a companion but his best friend and constant presence in his life.
Brad leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him. May he be at peace and his memory bring comfort to all those who knew him.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
