In his passing, Phil leaves behind many friends and family who will all truly miss him.

Phil was born in Camden County near Ha Ha Tonka, Mo. During his life his family lived in Kalamazoo, MI. & Belton, MO. and eventually settled back in Camden, Co. Mo. Phil worked a total of 40 years for Dawsons, Sundstrand and Modine. In his years at Modine he made many lifelong friends which he still stayed in touch with, every year in September they had a Modine reunion, unfortunately this year he was in the hospital when the reunion occurred on Sep 12, 2026. He always looked forward to the reunion every year to visit with his “Modine Family,”

At 17 years of age, at Webster Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Jesus saved his soul. This was within approximately a hundred yards from his Earthly birthplace.

On April 25, 1970, at Webster Grove Missionary Baptist Church, in Camdenton, Mo. Phil was united in marriage to Vicky North, together they shared 56 years of marriage.

Around 1984, God called Phil to preach the gospel. On December 6, 1987, Phil was ordained as a minister at Ira Church in Eldridge, Mo. He spent 39 years pastoring many churches, spreading God's word and preaching the gospel. Phil thoroughly enjoyed sharing his love for the Lord through preaching, testifying, or singing Everyone Will Be Happy Over There. He loved nothing more than to be at church serving God and seeing lost souls get saved.

In Phil’s spare time you could find Phil in the shop tinkering around with outboard boat motors, especially adjusting the carburetors, collecting case knives, out in a boat fishing on the Big Niangua River, or spending quality time with his family which he loved so dearly. To Phil the word family spread far and wide from his relatives to church and work family. His favorite things on the river were watching the kids catching perch off the deck to bait juglines and pulling the kids all over the river on a innertube behind the speedboat. He was an avid deer hunter, and he loved that first Saturday of gun season, getting together with Vicky's Stew and telling all the deer hunting stories with family and friends.

To know Phil was to love him. He will be deeply missed on this Earth, but oh the reunion that is happening in Heaven right now is so joyous and as much as we would love him here with us, we wouldn’t bring him back for anything because we know a heavenly home is where he has always looked forward to.
