Raymond Gene Flory

Raymond Gene “Ray” Flory, son of John Melvin and Dorothy Pauline Hoffman Flory, was born October 10, 1949 in Eldorado Springs, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, July 17, 2017 in Lake Regional Health Systems, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years, nine months, and seven days. His parents preceded Ray in death. He is survived by his daughter, Angie Thomas and husband Capt, of Montreal, Missouri; son, Nick Flory and wife Alesia, of Wetmore, Colorado; three grandchildren, Brett Kincaid, Ryan Kincaid, and Shane Thomas, as well as a greatly anticipated grandson, Dominik Ray Flory; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Kincaid; a brother, John Flory and wife Donna, of Montreal, Missouri; a niece, Sandy Fitzgerald and husband Bud, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a nephew, Donald Flory, of Atlanta, Georgia; the mother of his children, Rita Anderson, of Lake Ozark, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Ray moved to Camdenton with his family as a child. He attended Linn Creek grade school and was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the Class of 1967. Ray started his career in Auto Parts Sales at Camdenton Auto Supply, and retired from O’Reilly Auto Parts after many years of service. Following his retirement, Ray worked at Marty’s as a bartender and cook until his passing. Ray had accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed going to the horse track. He was a skilled woodworker and made many beautiful pieces throughout the years. Ray took great pride in his yard and landscaping. He often would joke about how he “manicured his yard instead of mowing it.” Spending time with family and friends was something that Ray truly cherished. Ray was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and many accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
