Shirley Ann (Garrison) Knapp, age 86 of Camdenton, Missouri departed this life April 30, 2025 at her home. She was born in Montreal, Missouri on September 21, 1938 to Bryan and Joan (Foster) Garrison and was a lifelong resident of Camden County.

Growing up on the family farm in the Freedom community, Shirley enjoyed the farm life and helping her parents with the turkey farm. During her early years of school, she attended the one room school house at Freedom, where her mother was the teacher.

Shirley graduated from Camdenton, Missouri High School in 1956 and soon after started working at First National Bank in Camdenton where she was in the bookkeeping department as a proof operator for many years

On February 21, 1965 in Montreal, Missouri, in the home they built together, she was united in marriage to Harold Eugene Knapp and to this union one daughter was born, Deborah Ann. Together they shared fifty wonderful years of marriage until Gene's passing in 2015.

Shirley enjoyed traveling, being outdoors especially working on the farm helping Gene raise cattle, and gardening. Shirley loved music, had a wonderful alto voice and enjoyed singing. A special memory of hers was singing at the Dogwood Festival in 1952 with her mother a song her mom wrote titled "When the Dogwood's Out in Bloom. She was an excellent letter writer and enjoyed corresponding with friends and family. Always an excellent cook who had an amazing library of recipes to share. In later years, she discovered modern coloring books which became a favorite hobby. Shirley was a baseball fan and enjoyed watching her favorite team, the St Louis Cardinals. Her favorite player was Stan "The Man" Musial and would reminisce about his playing days.

She was an active member of the Freedom Church of Christ where she enjoyed attending every Lord’s Day. For many decades up until her passing, she was the Church Treasurer and also did many unseen but very appreciated work for the Church

Shirley enjoyed people and was always up for a good conversation. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, and cousin who quietly blessed others with her presence and was always concerned about the well-being of others

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Joan; her husband Gene; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Ernest Knapp and Dorothy Knapp, Homer and Pearl Knapp, Walter and Winifred Fletcher Luther and Lillian Polly, Melvin Light, Robert and Crystal Bergman and nephew Ted Light

She is survived by daughter Deborah and husband Todd Franklin; nephews Doug Light and wife Sabrina, James Knapp and wife Linda; nieces Lana Hootselle and husband Bob, Elizabeth Anderberg and husband Fred, Lucy Yanni and husband Jim, and many cousins and friends who will all truly miss her.

Funeral Service for Shirley Knapp will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday May 6, 2025, in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Buffalo Prairie Cemetery, Montreal, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
