January 12, 1942 – February 10, 2026
Sondra Lucille (Gould) Gentry-Wright passed away after a sudden illness on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, 11:48 PM at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. She leaves behind husband Ronald Wright, Bolivar, MO. and is survived by one sister Marva Welborn of Warsaw, MO.
Services will be held at the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, MO. on Feb. 17, 2026, with visitation at 9:00am followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00am. A private family graveside ceremony will follow at the Climax Springs Cemetery in Benton County. Rev. Ray Leininger of Bolivar, MO., will be officiating the services. Pallbearers will be sons Chris, Jerry and Larry alongside grandsons Russell, Joshua and Zachariah.
Sondra was preceded in death by her father Clifford DeLyle Gould, her mother Gertrude Marie (Nichols) Gould and six siblings. Lloyd Gould, Johnny Gould, Maurice Gould, Paul Gould, Norman Gould and Agnes Stanley.
She is survived by her five children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as noted here.

Sondra divorced JD Busick in 1974.
She married John Gentry on Nov. 20, 1976, who had two grown sons, David and Ronald. John preceded her in death in 2003.
Sondra graduated from Lillis High School, KC, MO. in 1959. As a teen, Sondra taught dance at Authur Murray’s Dance Studio in KC, MO and was a student in the Kansas City Turners Society School of Gymnastics.
She had many career paths including wait staff at several locations – Western Sizzlin in Camdenton was one, café owner/operator in Climax Springs, bookkeeper for a construction company in KC, MO, Bendix Mfg. KC, MO, Spartan Steel Products – boat dock manufacturing in Climax Springs, MO, secretary at KU Medical Center in KC, KS many more we have forgotten or never knew about.
She was extremely proud when she graduated from the Nichols Career Center Program of Practical Nursing on August 20, 1993, as an LPN.
She worked for several years as a nurse at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, MO. and Windsor Estates Nursing Home in Camdenton, MO.
She enjoyed serving as a volunteer for the Mid County Fire Dept, Camden County, MO and as a reserve dispatcher for the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.
Over the years she became interested in playing the keyboard, piano, organ and hammered dulcimer, so much so that she taught herself to play each one skillfully.
After moving to Bolivar, MO. in 2013, she took on the role of manager of The Tremain House with Citizen’s Memorial Hospital. After retiring that role, she continued to serve as a volunteer there as well as volunteering with MAHA, Missouri Association of Hospital Auxiliaries, even serving as their president 2022-23. She was very proud of the improvements and organization she was able to develop under her leadership. She worked tirelessly and tenaciously.
She met Ron Wright Nov. 2018, and they were married on June 15, 2019. They were active members of the First Baptist Church of Bolivar.
Sondra was a wonderful woman, spoken well of by those who knew and loved her. Her primary focus of life was to serve the needs of others. She will be greatly missed and remembered fondly.
Funeral service for Sondra will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri at 10:00 am. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am in the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
