William Joseph “Bill” Henderson, was born August 24, 1930. He departed this life Wednesday, July 20, 2016, in his home, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, ten months, and twenty-six years. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gloria Henderson; a son, Brian Henderson; three brothers and two sisters. His son Steven J. Henderson; and wife, Margaret; a granddaughter, Angela J. Henderson; two brothers, and his sunshine, Shirley Samples, survive him. Bill faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force, and fought in the Korean War. After that, he worked for and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone. Following his retirement is when he really began to live his life. He loved to travel the country on his motorcycle. Traveling with his best gal, Shirley, and his riding buddies was something he truly cherished. His travels even took him to the other side of the world; Bill’s favorite trip was to “the land down under.” In his eighty-five years on Earth, Bill lived a happy and full life. Many years of motorcycle rides, jokes, and having fun were the things that made Bill who he was. His family’s wish is that William J. “Bill” Henderson be remembered as the fun, life loving jokester that he was. He would like for us to love life and take pleasures in even the simplest pleasures in life, such as drinking coffee and reading the paper on the deck. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 in the Community Christian Church, Camdenton, Missouri. An honorary luncheon will follow at noon. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
